Ever wondered how long someone could bounce in a bounce house non stop? Well, I have. My grandson upset my best friend Lois one 4th of July in Buena Vista by bouncing for seven hours straight. Well, bouncing, .. he and a friend also did a lot of flips and somersaults. I can remember the teacher in her freaking out, “He is going to hurt himself, and he needs to get out and sit down for awhile” and ” He hasn’t had lunch”. Me – well I just laughed. I knew better. I knew he would sleep good that night and be absolutely fine.

Moon Bounce Team Awaits Certificate. The record for “Longest marathon on a bouncy castle (team)” is 25 hr 25 min 25 sec, set by Will Scogin, Patrick Taylor, Miller Wright, David Wilson, Forrest Haynes and Jimbo Wilhite (all from the United States) at Northridge High School, Tuscaloosa, Alabama on October 10-11, 2008.
So therefore I leave you with this thought – do you think you can beat the record?

Halloween is right around the corner, and here are some fun ideas from HGTV for party games for kids, and well of course – don’t forget to set up a bounce house outside too. Our bounce houses are good to about 50 degrees. The kids don’t even notice the cold and you can cover the outside of the bounce with fake spider webs and big plastic spiders too, add a black light and you are all set and sure to be the hit of the neighborhood. You could also add our human spider wall if its warm enough.
What do you think might make a great Halloween outside party for kids? leave a comment
The weather is getting cooler. Its still early enough to have an outside party. What about a football party? You could get a bounce house for the kids and one of our free standing or table top heaters.
Then invite your friends and BBQ and have fun watching the game while the kids are occupied in the bounce house. This is a perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The heater will keep everyone cozy, although, kids bouncing don’t seem to complain about being cold.
We have a new hot dog machine in which you can cook up to 24 hot dogs at once for rent also. And of course tables, chairs and a snow cone machine for the kids. Of course it goes without saying that you should have a cooler stocked with beverages, Having a computer set up and online and ready to go might also be nice so the guests can check on different things.
You can get specialty theme items from NFL Football Parties

There are games to play in the bounce house to make it even more fun and wear the kids out faster.
You can for instance throw a bunch of inflated balloons in the bounce house – lots of them. The kids will love this.
Do you remember the game red light- green light? This can be a lot of fun. Yell green light and everyone will bounce. Yell red light and everyone freezes. The last one to totally freeze has to get out. The last one in the bounce house wins! The variation on this is when you give them instructions as to what to do when everyone starts moving again , stuff like – hop on one leg, roll around ont he floor, hop like a kangaroo.
How about a crab kick with those balloons? have the kids get on all fours and throw in the ballons – they are only allowed to kick out with their back legs, the one whose balloon is the lowest kicked has to get out. Of course if the child falls over they are out too.
Then of course there is the game of peter piper. Remember that? Make up some silly movements for the kids – and you be the piper – or an older child and then stand outside the bounce and observe as the piper calls out what to do. You can eliminate kids based on how well or fast they do movements the piper calls out.
Being a former bounce operator – I always let the kids take plastic squirt guns full of water into the bounce on a hot summer day. It won’t hurt the bounce and if you think about it there are all kinds of fascinating games you can come up with for the kids to play with them.
Have an idea for some more games? We would love to hear from you!
Grove Cleveland lost his second re-election to the presidency because of his stance with unions and striking railroad workers. As a bid to keep himself in office he decided to give the public an official Labor Day. Well, one thing for sure, it generally means a three days of work free fun. Anyway that was the intention, of course some of us still work. However, for those of us not working, this holiday is usually pure family fun.
So how about a family party BBQ. Make invitations – the old fashioned kind, that you put on a stamp and mail them around the middle of the month. Invite the neighborhood, have the kiddies take around fliers. You can ask everyone to bring a dish of food or so. Call us and order one of our air dancers for the day and put it at the end of your driveway, get a bunch of tables and chairs (we rent those also), a bounce house or a waterslide for the kiddies, and lots of cool party lights. There are carnival games also.

Rent a Margarita Machine, $150 for the day. Comes with first mix- 5 gallons and 100 cups (Alcohol not included). 8 different types of mixes to choose from.
Take a look at our main page at all the stuff we have! and look through our stuff. We can deliver and help set up the party. This party will save you lots of expensive gas money – and you will have the comfort of your own home to hold it in. Besides, the kids will remember this kind of activity because its family run for a long time.
What is your idea? Have some ideas for Labor Day?
There is something about heat and lemonade. It surely tastes good on a hot day. It is also something kids and adults both love. AND, it is a great way for kids to learn a little responsibility and make some summer cash too. Take a look at this video. Now, you could put up a lemonade stand and rent a bounce house from us on a Saturday. Put them on your sidewalk , on your street and charge for bounce house admission and of course , charge for your lemonade. This is a great project for those ten to 15 year olds who are seemingly bored to death about this time of year. And, oh we also rent small canopy tents and tables and chairs.

I remember one time running the bounce house and having a child crying because I asked them to take off their glasses. As a person who has worn glasses since I was thirteen, I sympathized.
There is a good common sense reason not to take eye glasses into a bounce house. Very often the bounce house resembles a cage full of wild monkeys with everyone jumping this way and that. Its an enclosed wild space. Needless, to say eyeglasses are a hazard. However, even a child who basically is almost blind, is pretty safe in the bounce – as long as the operator in question watches from the outside. It also helps to ask the other kids to watch out for the poor kid who doesn’t see well.
When I was running the bounce house at various events I always had a sign posted that said, no candy, gum, sharp objects, shoes or glasses. Every once in awhile there would a kid or two that would sneak in with some of the offending objects and it always created a problem. One time I had a lad sneak in with gooey red stick candy. He smeared it all over the inside walls before I caught him and threw him out. Guess what? No matter how hard I cleaned I could not remove the stain it left. Then there was the kid with the pencil he thought it was fun to go around and stab other children in the bounce house .
There was one other thing I noticed in this business. I pretty much knew after awhile which communities and neighborhoods had well behaved kids and which did not. I wonder what that says for our culture?
I have done many festivals and events with my bounce houses., and combo units. One of the problems that usually frustrated me the most was the ten to twelve year old boys. These guys have a lot of energy. Some of them were were wonderfully behaved.
However, mostly they push each other around a lot and they have the horrible habit of doing things you would rather have them not do. They climb the inside of the bounce house walls, they push against the sides of the unit (which can and often did knock it down). They hanged from the tubes in the inside top of the unit. They bounded in and out of the front door of the units and knocked each other down. That activity almost got me sued one time. There was a mother walking by with a couple of younger boys and she had a fit. “Don’t you watch these kids?” - Really, all I did was turn my back on them for five seconds.
My grandson one summer in Buena Vista, did summersaults and flips for seven hours straight. My girlfriend freaked out (she is a school teacher) – “He has to come out and eat and rest for a bit!” .Me, well I just smiled, I “knew” better, You see I had watched hours and hours of ten to twelve year old boys in the bounce house and I got it. They have unlimited energy for something they WANT to do.
There is one thing I noted about boys this age however, – if you ask them nicely before they bounce they will watch out and take care of the two year old crowd. However, it is probably best to have boys in this age group bounce in the unit , under supervision ( because they seem to forget very easily the rules), by themselves.

This video I found is a lot of fun and shows part of the process of making a bounce house. And, it also shows two crazy male
type ” non youngsters” bouncing in one. However it doesn’t cover how exactly they sew the big pieces together – These houses are bulky and very heavy when sewn up, and they are worse when they are wet.
Please Comment – what do you think? Did you like this video? Comments
As we all know children have a lot of energy, especially under the age of twelve. If you only you could bottle it ….sigh… well. that is not going to happen. It does however, wear out a lot of adults.
So what you really need is a bounce house for a birthday party and a lot of distraction too. We have a lot of stuff we rent, like, a spin art machine. These are one heck of a lot of fun and will keep a kid amused for quite awhile. Basically its a wooden box with a turntable inside – like an old fashioned record player. The kid takes paint and squeezes it onto a cardboard card in side the machine. They make all kinds of beautiful designs. Its fascinating to watch it happen for some reason. At any rate it certainly keeps them amused for awhile.
We also have cotton candy machines and old fashioned cart type popcorn machines for rent. Kids love cotton candy – and then after they ingest it they can go bounce off the energy in the bounce house. Or, how about renting a few pony hops to tire em out too. These are small inflated ponies (without legs – of course) that the kid sits on an bounces around the yard.
All things considered you ought to have some really tired kids soon.
