There are games to play in the bounce house to make it even more fun and wear the kids out faster.
You can for instance throw a bunch of inflated balloons in the bounce house – lots of them. The kids will love this.
Do you remember the game red light- green light? This can be a lot of fun. Yell green light and everyone will bounce. Yell red light and everyone freezes. The last one to totally freeze has to get out. The last one in the bounce house wins! The variation on this is when you give them instructions as to what to do when everyone starts moving again , stuff like – hop on one leg, roll around ont he floor, hop like a kangaroo.
How about a crab kick with those balloons? have the kids get on all fours and throw in the ballons – they are only allowed to kick out with their back legs, the one whose balloon is the lowest kicked has to get out. Of course if the child falls over they are out too.
Then of course there is the game of peter piper. Remember that? Make up some silly movements for the kids – and you be the piper – or an older child and then stand outside the bounce and observe as the piper calls out what to do. You can eliminate kids based on how well or fast they do movements the piper calls out.
Being a former bounce operator – I always let the kids take plastic squirt guns full of water into the bounce on a hot summer day. It won’t hurt the bounce and if you think about it there are all kinds of fascinating games you can come up with for the kids to play with them.
Have an idea for some more games? We would love to hear from you!
Face painting is fun. Kids love it. Parents usually do also. We work at a Bouncy Bear with some great talent. The problem of course with face painting is that it is a temporary thing. Parents ought to have their cameras ready so as to take a snapshot. If nothing else as the child ages it will be a great memory for them and their kids to see a neat photo. Maybe you could post it on a online album somewhere so as to preserve the memory.
The reason face painting is so popular with kids is a little of a mystery. I suppose it might have to do with the fact that children are always told they cannot draw on themselves.
Then along comes this face painter - who can and does and mom isn’t yelling. Here are a few pix from some of our face painters.

Grove Cleveland lost his second re-election to the presidency because of his stance with unions and striking railroad workers. As a bid to keep himself in office he decided to give the public an official Labor Day. Well, one thing for sure, it generally means a three days of work free fun. Anyway that was the intention, of course some of us still work. However, for those of us not working, this holiday is usually pure family fun.
So how about a family party BBQ. Make invitations – the old fashioned kind, that you put on a stamp and mail them around the middle of the month. Invite the neighborhood, have the kiddies take around fliers. You can ask everyone to bring a dish of food or so. Call us and order one of our air dancers for the day and put it at the end of your driveway, get a bunch of tables and chairs (we rent those also), a bounce house or a waterslide for the kiddies, and lots of cool party lights. There are carnival games also.

Rent a Margarita Machine, $150 for the day. Comes with first mix- 5 gallons and 100 cups (Alcohol not included). 8 different types of mixes to choose from.
Take a look at our main page at all the stuff we have! and look through our stuff. We can deliver and help set up the party. This party will save you lots of expensive gas money – and you will have the comfort of your own home to hold it in. Besides, the kids will remember this kind of activity because its family run for a long time.
What is your idea? Have some ideas for Labor Day?
There is something about heat and lemonade. It surely tastes good on a hot day. It is also something kids and adults both love. AND, it is a great way for kids to learn a little responsibility and make some summer cash too. Take a look at this video. Now, you could put up a lemonade stand and rent a bounce house from us on a Saturday. Put them on your sidewalk , on your street and charge for bounce house admission and of course , charge for your lemonade. This is a great project for those ten to 15 year olds who are seemingly bored to death about this time of year. And, oh we also rent small canopy tents and tables and chairs.

Do you need party supplies? We have them .
Now lets just suppose you have a two year old – or a 40 year old having a birthday. Would it not be cool to have a special birthday chair for the special person to sit in? Okay, so you put them in a special chair – and you then get a misting fan to cool em off and then – well what about a bubble machine to blow bubbles?
We also have all kinds of lighting apparatus you could get to make the day special. like laser lights, black lights, lighted floor table cubes. and even ice cubes that light up. Please check out our sister site at Event Lighting Rental for all the really unusual light effects you can rent to make that event very special.
I remember one time running the bounce house and having a child crying because I asked them to take off their glasses. As a person who has worn glasses since I was thirteen, I sympathized.
There is a good common sense reason not to take eye glasses into a bounce house. Very often the bounce house resembles a cage full of wild monkeys with everyone jumping this way and that. Its an enclosed wild space. Needless, to say eyeglasses are a hazard. However, even a child who basically is almost blind, is pretty safe in the bounce – as long as the operator in question watches from the outside. It also helps to ask the other kids to watch out for the poor kid who doesn’t see well.
When I was running the bounce house at various events I always had a sign posted that said, no candy, gum, sharp objects, shoes or glasses. Every once in awhile there would a kid or two that would sneak in with some of the offending objects and it always created a problem. One time I had a lad sneak in with gooey red stick candy. He smeared it all over the inside walls before I caught him and threw him out. Guess what? No matter how hard I cleaned I could not remove the stain it left. Then there was the kid with the pencil he thought it was fun to go around and stab other children in the bounce house .
There was one other thing I noticed in this business. I pretty much knew after awhile which communities and neighborhoods had well behaved kids and which did not. I wonder what that says for our culture?
When I was an enterprising younger person, I used to like carnivals. Well, actually I grew up and liked carnivals, but that is another story. What is so attractive about a carnival are the games for one thing. Carnival games are fun and usually mindless – not like today’ s computer techie games. Its summer in Denver and Labor Day is coming.
Why not hold a block party? or a neighborhood carnival? or a local fundraiser. Here is the thing, if you don’t charge much and also spend some time in spreading the word around your local event, this could be actually one hell of a lot of fun! It is also a great way to teach the ten year old age group about making money.
Well, needless to say we here at A Bouncy Bear have a lot of carnival games that can be rented very inexpensively. You can set all these games up in a big backyard or a a front yard, or a park – or in front of a few homes. Light up the BBQ and put up a lemonade stand… an old fashioned one. And have one great time and make some cash! Hey – you know the younger teenagers might actually be able to do this themselves! with little supervision.

Got some ideas? We would love to hear from you!! so WHAT do YOU THINK?
One of the games we as kids always liked was Pin the Tail on the donkey. Its simple, its dumb, but it still is a lot of fun both for adults and kids. We have a version of this game that you can rent for fifteen dollars for the day.
A reason why this game is played by many people is because it is so versitile . Keeping the rules the same, you can change the object or subject of the game depending on the occasion or the party theme. Now if it iss a Christmas party, you could pin the star on the Christmas tree instead, or how about the halo on a Angel’s head? As for a Halloween party, pinning the fangs on the vampire would be a fun option. The options are endless with a little imagination.
Hey, want to add to the conversation? What do you think?
I have done many festivals and events with my bounce houses., and combo units. One of the problems that usually frustrated me the most was the ten to twelve year old boys. These guys have a lot of energy. Some of them were were wonderfully behaved.
However, mostly they push each other around a lot and they have the horrible habit of doing things you would rather have them not do. They climb the inside of the bounce house walls, they push against the sides of the unit (which can and often did knock it down). They hanged from the tubes in the inside top of the unit. They bounded in and out of the front door of the units and knocked each other down. That activity almost got me sued one time. There was a mother walking by with a couple of younger boys and she had a fit. “Don’t you watch these kids?” - Really, all I did was turn my back on them for five seconds.
My grandson one summer in Buena Vista, did summersaults and flips for seven hours straight. My girlfriend freaked out (she is a school teacher) – “He has to come out and eat and rest for a bit!” .Me, well I just smiled, I “knew” better, You see I had watched hours and hours of ten to twelve year old boys in the bounce house and I got it. They have unlimited energy for something they WANT to do.
There is one thing I noted about boys this age however, – if you ask them nicely before they bounce they will watch out and take care of the two year old crowd. However, it is probably best to have boys in this age group bounce in the unit , under supervision ( because they seem to forget very easily the rules), by themselves.
